Balut is a common exotic food can be found everywhere in the Philippines. Often this kind of food use as a challenge food for foreigner to eat. A balut is a developing duck embryo that is boiled alive and eaten in the shell. It is commonly sold as streetfood in the Philippines.
At first look after you open the shell, it really looks disgusting especially when you are not familiar or it's you're first time to eat this kind of exotic food. The soup that's inside the egg is very delicious. To ease the "yucky" sensation when you eat it, a spicy vinegar would be the number 1 remedy when eating it.
